The Dr. P. S. Lorin Education Conclave honours the enduring legacy of the late Dr. P. S. Lorin (1953–2021), founder and Principal Emeritus of Tetso College. A distinguished educationist and social leader in Nagaland, Dr. Lorin’s life reflected a profound commitment to education, human dignity, social responsibility, and the creation of opportunities for young people. Starting his educational journey in Phenshunyu Village, he went on to earn advanced degrees from Delhi University and JNU before receiving a Fulbright Scholarship to complete his PhD at Southern Illinois University. He returned to Nagaland in 1990 with his wife and two children and established Tetso College in 1994. Dr. Lorin served as Principal and later as Principal Emeritus until his passing in 2021, leaving behind a modernized, digitally-driven campus recognized for its cross-cultural environment and global alumni network.
Building on the foundation laid by previous editions, which featured esteemed speakers such as Naga elder Dr. Visier Meyasetsu Sanyü on “Reconstructing Naga History from Oral Tradition” and Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education & SCERT, this year’s Conclave continues to bridge academic discourse with critical societal reflection.
